Self Measure tips

Self measure is not as difficult as one might think. Here are some general tips to keep in mind:

-Do a few sets of measures. Check each set with the others to make sure you are getting the same numbers. A discrepancy less than .5" is ok (zero is ideal), but any more than that and it can affect the final outcome of the garment.

-The neck base is the bottom of neck, where your neck attaches to shoulders, measured around. Usually the neck base is .5" - 1" larger than your actual neck circumference.

-When measuring the chest, measure directly under armpit and look straight ahead. Looking downward (as in when you try to do it without assistance, by yourself) can result in a smaller (inaccurate) number. Best to have someone help. Stand normally, don't take a deep breath in or out as that can vastly affect the true measurement.

-When measuring the trouser waist (2" below navel), wrap the tape measure around as tight as you would want your trouser to be. If you have any belly flab, the trouser waist is probably going to be smaller than your actual on body measurement so keep that in mind. Constrict the measure tape as much to retain comfort.

-The inseam needs to be taken off an existing pair of trousers for most accurate measure (and adjusted as needed if it's too long/short). This is the one measurement that you many will want to fine tune after getting the suit, since where you end up wearing the trousers on your waist can affect the leg length. Fortunately this is the quickest, easiest and cheapest alteration to do. Every trouser has about 2" of fabric to let down if needed.

-Once again, if you are not sure how long the sleeve should be, please get NONFUNCTIONAL cuffs for easy alteration and do the functional cuffs for a future garment.
